ACR-Approved. AAPM Report 177 compliant. One phantom for both SPECT and PET accreditation.

Complete tomographic QA solution with interchangeable SPECT and PET configurations.

The Pro-NM ACR Performance Phantom is a dual-configuration tomographic imaging phantom designed to meet ACR Nuclear Medicine and PET Accreditation Program requirements in a single device. By swapping between the included SPECT Lid (with cold spheres) and PET Lid (with refillable cylinders), the phantom covers both accreditation pathways – making it the most cost-effective solution for facilities operating both SPECT and PET systems, or for medical physicists conducting QA across multiple modalities.

One phantom. Two ACR accreditation pathways.

Most facilities and consulting medical physicists need separate phantoms for SPECT and PET accreditation testing. The Pro-NM ACR Performance Phantom replaces both with a single, modular device:

SPECT configuration – install the SPECT Lid with six cold spheres for ACR Nuclear Medicine accreditation testing
✅ PET configuration – swap to the PET Lid with refillable cylinders for ACR PET accreditation testing
✅ Shared cylinder and rod insert – the same main body and cold rod insert serve both modalities
✅ Lower total cost of ownership – one phantom instead of two
✅ Single inventory item – simplified storage, transport, and documentation

Ideal for hybrid SPECT/PET departments, multi-site QA programs, and consulting medical physicists serving facilities with both modalities.

SPECT configuration – ACR Nuclear Medicine accreditation

In the SPECT configuration, the main cylinder is fitted with the cold rod insert and a set of six solid cold spheres mounted inside the cylinder, then closed with the SPECT Lid. This setup enables assessment of the three core tomographic parameters required by ACR:

Spatial resolution – via cold rod insert (4.8–12.7 mm rods)
✅ Cold-spot contrast – via six solid cold spheres (9.5–31.8 mm) suspended inside the cylinder
✅ Tomographic uniformity – via uniform PMMA section
✅ Attenuation and scatter correction – assessment of correction algorithm effectiveness

PET configuration – ACR PET accreditation

Switching to the PET configuration is straightforward: simply replace the SPECT Lid with the PET Lid – a cover with built-in refillable thin-walled cylinders (Esser-style). The cold rod insert and cold spheres remain inside the cylinder, but only the PET Lid cylinders are imaged in the relevant axial plane during PET accreditation testing. The refillable cylinders allow custom hot-to-background activity ratios:

Spatial resolution – via the same cold rod insert used in SPECT mode
✅ Hot and cold lesion contrast – via refillable cylinders built into the PET Lid (8, 12, 16, and 25 mm)
✅ SUV uniformity and calibration – via uniform PMMA section (current ACR criteria: background SUV 0.90–1.10)
✅ Attenuation reference – via Teflon® cylinder (bone-equivalent)

The refillable design allows flexible activity ratios for clinical FDG protocols, harmonization studies, and protocol-specific testing.
